Heidi Montag has threatened to sue estranged husband Spencer Pratt following an announcement he is to release a tell-all book on their marriage and her family.

Pratt announced the plans for his book following the finale of The Hills claiming that he has high hopes this time around as his last book, How to be Famous, did not reach the top of the New York Times bestseller list.

Montag is hoping to stop publication of the book, telling TMZ: ”This is exactly why I left him… Right now I’m looking into my legal options.”

The couple have begun divorce proceedings with the process being finalised in February 2011.

Spencer Pratt is to release a revealing book including details of his relationship with Heidi Montag.

The Hills star went through a highly publicised break-up with Montag and is well known for not getting along with her mother Darlene Egelhoff.

Pratt told Us Weekly: “My last book, How to be Famous, didn’t make The New York Times bestseller list.

“This one is going to be totally different. I’m not holding anything back.”

The final episode of The Hills recently aired on MTV.

Heidi Montag’s plastic surgeon passed away yesterday following a car crash in which his Jeep plunged off a Malibu highway.

The Hills star was quick to pay tribute to Dr Frank Ryan who performed 10 procedures and treatments on her in one day.

In a statement on Twitter, Montag said: “He was the most amazing person I have ever known. He was an angel and changed my life and the lives of everyone he met.

“He was the most brilliant talented surgeon who will ever exist. Dr Frank Ryan changed the world.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to his mother, family, friends, and anyone who was ever blessed enough to meet him. He is in a better place.”

Michael Douglas has been diagnosed with cancer and is to receive treatment for a tumour in his throat, the actor’s spokesman has revealed.

The Hollywood star’s condition is not thought to be life threatening and he is expected to make a full recovery following eight weeks of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

The Oscar winner’s spokesman refused to reveal the type of cancer, when it was detected and when treatment will begin.

In a statement, Michael said: “I am very optimistic.”

Sir Elton John has revealed that he helped Eminem with alleged drug addiction.

He claimed that drugs had changed the rapper and that he only helped him once he asked for help.

In an interview with Danny Baker on Radio 5, he said: “I’ve been helping Eminem over the last 18 months and he’s been doing brilliantly.

“I’m there if people want my help. If people ask for help you tell them where to go but there’s no point advising people if they don’t want to do it.”

Elton added that he felt sorry for young reality stars and the pressure they are put under, saying: “Suddenly they become very famous, like Joe who just won X Factor, who is a sweetheart but he’s go to go and play live but he’s had no experience of that.”

Lindsay Lohan is dating Gucci model Adam Senn, reports suggest.

The New York Daily News claims that the actress introduced the model to her family on her return from filming a BBC documentary in India.

A source close to Lindsay said: ”Dina [Lohan] really likes him, she thinks he is good for her.

“Everything that’s gone on between Lindsay and her dad has really taken a toll on her. Adam is the one really positive thing going on in her life.

“Adam is a good guy and Lindsay is definitely starting to turn to him when things get bad.”

Her father is also said to approve of Adam, saying: “If he’s a good guy and he has no addictions, and he’s a good influence on her, then God bless him. It’s a good thing.”

Russell Brand and Katy Perry are reportedly engaged after the comedian popped the question whilst his American girlfriend was in the UK last week.

The couple have spent Christmas apart but Russell is said to be searching for a ring to make the engagement official on New Year’s Eve.

Speaking to The Sunday Mirror, a source said: ”Russell knows Katy’s the one for him. He’s never been into a girl like he has with her and they’re besotted. He asked her to marry him last week and she quickly said yes.

“They don’t know when the wedding will be but they are planning to make it in 2010 if the schedules can work.”

The pair were first seen together in October with Katy introducing her comedian boyfriend to her parents last month.

A judge has ruled that Britney Spears is unfit to care for herself and her conservetorship has been extended for another six months, reports suggest.

The star’s finances and commitments have been managed by her father Jamie since her high profile breakdown in 2008.

Britney has allegedly complained that she feels overly restricted whilst her life is not under her own control.

The singer is said to be paying her father and her lawyer £10,000 a month to look after her estate.

Simon Cowell’s run as a judge on American Idol is to end in 2010, reports suggest.

The music mogul is leaving the show to concentrate on taking the X Factor to the US where it will take a new slot on Fox.

Simon’s brother Tony confirmed the news on his podcast, The Cowell Factor. He said: “A press statement is being prepared which will confirm what everybody expected. Simon will leave Idol at the end of 2010 to concentrate on bringing the American version of X Factor to US TV in 2011.”

The record company exec’s contract with Idol ends in 2010 but Simon has not yet confirmed the news himself.

Brittany Murphy has died following full cardiac arrest in the early hours of this morning, reports suggest.

The 32-year-old was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Hospital in Los Angeles after an emergency call at 8am this morning but was pronounced dead on arrival.

In a statement, a representative for Brittany said: “In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy.” 

Celebrities have been paying tribute to the Clueless actress by posting messages on Twitter.

Aston Kutcher said: “2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon. see you on the other side kid.”

Fred Durst also paid tribute, saying: “RIP Brittany Murphy. What a sweet human being. My prayers are with her friends and family.”

Further investigations will be carried out by the LA County Coroner into the exact cause of death.
